About Kim

For as long as I can remember, I've been creating order from chaos. As a child, I would carefully arrange my decorative tin collection like a store window display, and later explore my grandmother's barn, sorting through forgotten treasures to create a rustic sewing space for my handmade clothing line, Apron Strings.

Even then, I loved transforming spaces to fit a vision. That curiosity never left me.

I'm not tech-savvy. Can I still do this?

Yes. Setup takes about two minutes, and your organizer will walk you through it. Many clients over 65 work this way successfully. If you can video call a family member, you can do this, and if you can't, we will be happy to help you.

Yes, and this is a specialty area. This kind of work requires patience, emotional attunement, and no pressure. Sessions are paced around your energy and readiness, not a checklist.

What is virtual home organizing, and how does it work?+

You work with a professional organizer via video call in real time. The organizer guides you through sorting, decision-making, and systems-building while you, or your selected helper, do the physical work in your own space. No one enters your home.

Is virtual organizing as effective as in-person organizing?+

For most people, yes, and sometimes more so. You stay in control of every item, which tends to produce better decisions and stronger follow-through. Neuroplasticity of the mind allows you to acquire muscle memory of organizing and skill building, making it a learning session as well as a service. Sessions are focused and can be scheduled more frequently.

What technology do I need?+

A smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a camera and a reliable internet connection. No special apps are required.

Can virtual organizing help with downsizing or moving?+

It's one of the most common reasons clients come. Virtual sessions work especially well for decisions about what to keep, donate, or pass on to family, which is where most people get stuck.

I'm helping an aging parent declutter. Can we do sessions together?+

Yes. Adult children often join sessions to provide support, help with logistics, or participate in decisions about family belongings. The senior remains the primary decision-maker throughout.

Do I need to clean up before our session?+

No. It is actually more helpful to see the space in its natural state. That is where the real work begins.

I have ADHD. Will virtual organizing actually work for me?+

Yes, and for many clients with ADHD, the virtual format works better than in-person. The presence of another person on screen provides external accountability, which is one of the most reliable ways to activate focus for an ADHD brain. Sessions are shorter and more frequent, which works with your attention span rather than against it. You are in your own environment, so there is no transition cost or context shift that drains energy before you even begin. Decisions are broken into small, manageable steps with a guide walking alongside you in real time. Kim holds specialized training in ADHD and understands how to pace, prompt, and support without overwhelming.

Will I actually learn to stay organized, or will I need help forever?+

The goal is skill transfer, not dependency. Each session is structured so that you are making the decisions and doing the work, with guidance. Over time, your brain builds new organizing habits through repetition, a process rooted in neuroplasticity. The more consistently you practice decision-making in your own space, the more those patterns become instinctive. Many clients find that after working together, they can maintain systems independently and return only for new life transitions or a specific project. Think of it less like a cleaning service and more like a personal trainer: the skills you build stay with you.

How long is a typical session?+

Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes. Shorter, more frequent sessions often produce better results than marathon days, particularly for clients dealing with grief, health challenges, or ADHD.

How many sessions will I need?+

It depends on the size of your space and the complexity of your situation. Some clients accomplish a focused goal in two or three sessions; others work together over several months for a full home transition. An honest estimate is part of the initial consultation.

Do you offer a consultation before I commit?+

Yes. A brief introductory call is available to discuss your goals, ask questions, and determine whether working together is a good fit, with no obligation.

What credentials does Kim hold?+

Kim is a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO®) and Certified Virtual Organizing Professional (CVOP™) with over 25 years of experience. She holds specialized training in ADHD, grief and loss, and aging-related transitions, and is a member of ICD (icd.org).

Is what I share kept confidential?+

Yes. Client information is never shared. Sessions are private, and your home is visible only to you and your organizer.
